ECU Alumni Bringing Change to Down Town Greenville!

Greenville residents will soon have more parking options in the Uptown district, thanks to a project that will provide on-street parking on Greene Street.
The effort will reclaim one of Greene Street’s three northbound travel lanes between Reade Circle and First Street, which will be marked to provide a 7-foot parking bay with a 5-foot bike lane throughout the section. The plan will provide the remaining two travel lanes of that section of Greene Street to handle traffic needs.
Markings and signage will be installed along Greene Street to designate the location of the bike lane and allowed parking spaces. The area from Fifth Street to First Street will be signed to accommodate two-hour free parking (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), while spaces in front of the Police and Fire/Rescue stations between Reade Circle and Fifth Street will be designated as one-hour parking (24 hours) for those who have business in those facilities.
This project is expected to begin this month. An overview of the affected area is included below, as well as detailed views of the changes.
