Brandon Lusch
Major: Bachelor of Science in Geographic Information Science & Technology
Minor: Public Health
What led you to choose your major? Geographic Information Science ties geography and data science together into one awesome discipline of science, which is why I chose to study GIS. I chose to study geography because I like to learn about how earth’s surface systems interact with humans, and how their interactions affect the climate. I
like collecting, interpreting, and displaying spatial data, and I have learned to do those things using various GIS methods
What are your plans after you graduate? I plan to do a Masters in Geography/GIS.
What are your long-term career goals? After completing my Masters I want to do a PhD in Geography. I want to focus my research on the climate and the physical environment of coastal regions, specifically in and around wetlands, and using remote sensing and geographic information systems as tools to study geography
What has been your favorite thing about the Department? I like how the department has a variety of extracurricular activities, such as research, independent studies, internships, and societies like Gamma Theta Upsilon.
Fun Fact about you: In 2013, at age 11, I inherited the largest and most expensive Wheaties box collection in the United States.
