“Flood hazard mitigation. Specifically, I’m interested in understanding the underpinning factors guiding the acceptance and refusal of hazard buyout programs in the rural communities of Pitt County.”

Why did you decide to join the graduate program in this department?

“After I decided to proceed in my academic career, I applied to six graduate schools, and I was offered admission in all. I decided to join the department because it is the only department that stands at an intersection of planning, geography, and the environment. Also, I’m excited to join the ongoing compound flooding project funded by NOAA in the department.”
