Research project/area

“Using Unmanned Aerial Systems and structure-from-motion photogrammetry to monitor erosion along the Neuse River Estuary.”

Why did you decide to join the graduate program in this department?

“I like having the opportunity to use multidisciplinary approaches to address real-world issues as they affect Eastern North Carolina, and the DGPE has provided me the opportunity to do that, both as an undergrad and a graduate student. I’ve had the opportunity to learn a multitude of research techniques to be used in physical and critical human geography, as well as planning. The technical expertise and open-mindedness of the faculty are extremely valuable to me, as well as the support and encouragement I’ve received.”

A fun fact about yourself OR your hobbies.

“I’m a field research specialist! No matter the objective, equipment, weather, or conditions, I’m always happy to lend a helping hand. If you need help designing or implementing a field research trip, I’m your guy!”
